The2014 FIBA 3x3 World Tour Rio de Janeiro Masters was held on 27/28 September. On the Sport Court ® basketball court, team Sao Paulo edged out Santos in a one-sided 21-12 win in Sunday’s all-Brazilian final in the park known as Aterro do Flamengo, one of the venues of the 2016 Olympic Games, with the Sugarloaf Mountain on the horizon. The first two FIBA 3x3 World Tour events of 2014 are in the books with the exciting weekend events held recently in Manila and Beijing. In Manila, fan-favorite Manila West upset Doha, Qatar’s team consisting of two of the four players who had recently won the Men’s 3x3 World Championships in Moscow in early June. Hosted indoors in the SM Megamall in Pasig City, Metro Manila, mall shoppers lined the 5 story atrium for hours to watch these exciting matches.

FIBA (International Basketball Federation) selected US based Connor Sport Court International as its ‘Official Technical Supplier’ of custom courts for the 2014 FIBA Basketball World Cup. This decision comes as FIBA seeks to elevate the brand identity of the FIBA Basketball World Cup by creating consistent, uniquely-branded playing surfaces of the highest quality across multiple venues. Connor Sports will execute that vision by supplying custom-made and specifically-designed portable QuickLock™ wooden courts to each of the six host cities of the 2014 FIBA Basketball World Cup in Spain.
FIBA partnered with Sport Court to provide outdoor Sport Court outdoor basketball courts to the 2013 FIBA 3x3 World Tour. Sport Court will provide the outdoor basketball court surface and oversee the logistics associated with transporting these basketball courts around the globe. ”We are excited to partner with FIBA to grow basketball around the globe,” said Andrew Gettig, VP of International.
