When schools experience back to back flooding, like Liberty Elementary in Harrisburg, South Dakota, they begin asking themselves questions. Is it worth the continuous refinishing costs and massive renovation costs experienced after a flood to have a wood gymnasium floor?

The Superintendent in Harrisburg decided the answer was no, he then selected a Sport Court gymnasium floor for its low maintenance design.

"We're not putting in another wood floor, we're going to put in Sport Court and so if it ever does flood again, hopefully that never happens, but if it does then we will not ruin a floor," Holbeck said.

The modular nature of Sport Court gymnasium floors allow them to be easily refurbished after a flood for very little costs, and the floor doesn't require the annual screen and re-coat that a wood court does so the school can reduce some of its overall maintenance cost.

The largest benefit though, is that the elementary school receives a gym floor that is lower maintenance, without jeopardizing any performance or safety characteristics. Sport Court gym floors are designed to deliver the same performance and safety features that a high quality wood court would deliver. Making it a win-win for the school.
