On a weekly basis Sport Court has the opportunity to be involved in events that take place in venues and backyards around the world! The following four events capture the range of projects Sport Court works on over the course of one week.

 

  1. The NCAA Men's Division One Volleyball Championship

Sport Court provided a Maple Select court for the 2015 Men’s NCAA DI Volleyball Championship on May 7 – 9 in Palo Alto, CA.

Stanford University hosted the tournament in Maples Pavilion, where Loyola Chicago defeated Lewis (21-25, 25-23, 25-15, 27-25, 23-21) in five sets to claim its second consecutive national title. With the win, Loyola becomes the fourth school in the tournament's 45-year history to win back-to-back NCAA titles.

  1. The Dedication of the 17th DreamCourt in Honor of  Muhammad and Lonnie Ali

Sport Court dedicated its 17th collaborative DreamCourt in conjunction with World Ventures Foundation and Nancy Lieberman Foundation in Phoenix on Wednesday, May 6th. It was a tearful, nostalgic and joyous dedication, conceived by the Nancy Lieberman Foundation for Muhammad and Lonnie Ali at the Harry & Sandy Rosenzweig Boys and Girls Club.

About DreamCourts

DreamCourts are state-of-the-art basketball facilities built in lower-income communities through a collaboration among WorldVentures Foundation, Nancy Lieberman Foundation and Sport Court. They are intended to provide local children with a safe, quality place to play and to develop social skills like teamwork and good sportsmanship—away from the lure of the streets. Of the 17 DreamCourts constructed to date, the Muhammad and Lonnie Ali location is among 11 built at Boys & Girls Clubs.

 

  1. Announcement of the 3x3 FIBA World Tour Schedule

FIBA announced the calendar for its 2015 FIBA 3x3 World Tour at a press conference in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates on Thursday, May 7th.  All of the FIBA 3x3 events are play on Sport Court.

The 2015 FIBA 3x3 World Tour will start on August 1st in the Philippines and end on October 16th in the United Arab Emirates.

  1. Sport Court of Washington DC designed and built a custom court for a Penn State alumnus. The court was installed into the Penn State alumnus’ backyard on the week of May 3rd.
