The Women’s NORCECA Olympic Qualification Tournament is being played at Pinnacle Bank Arena Jan. 7-9 in Lincoln, NE on a Sport Court volleyball court.
The NORCECA tournament will feature Canada, the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico and the host U.S. The event will draw the attention of the worldwide volleyball community with the winner earning a spot in the 2016 Olympic Games in Brazil.
Sport Court has been the Official Court of USA Volleyball (USAV) for the past 25 and has been used as a playing surface for USAV Olympic Qualifiers three of the last five Olympic years.
“Connor Sport Court has been a valued partner of USA Volleyball for over 25 years and we are proud to showcase their outstanding volleyball surface at this prestigious event where our U.S. Women’s National Team is competing to earn its qualification to the 2016 Rio Olympic Games,” said USA Volleyball Secretary General Kerry Klostermann.
Sport Court and Olympic Qualifier Facts
- Sport Court has been the official court of USAV for over 25 years
- It takes half a day to install the Sport Court volleyball court
- The USAV Sport Court volleyball court is comprised of roughly 10,000 10-inch x 10-inch Maple Select™ tiles
- The Sport Court volleyball court features over 210,000 locks, which connect the Sport Court tiles together
- Sport Base and a 3 millimeter rubber underlayment is being used as a subfloor for the Sport Court volleyball court
- The Sport Base and rubber underlayment’s stability, cushion and resiliency is designed to absorb shock and reduce joint strain and fatigue to help athletes play longer and safer
- 300 feet of tape is used for the game lines
- Sport Court is the official court of NORCECA, the international host of the USAV Olympic Qualifier
- NORCECA selected Sport Court to be their official playing surface in 2009
- National federations within the NORCECA zone have installed over 42 Sport Court volleyball courts
- Over the last three months, Sport Court has been a part of 3 major volleyball events in Nebraska
- FIVB World League at the CenturyLink Center in Omaha
- NCAA Volleyball DI Championships at the CenturyLink Center in Omaha
