Ealier this month, Sport Court® installed a new Sport Court® Power Game™ bright blue and bright red Futsal court at the Tonga Football Association’s complex located in Nuku’alofa, Kingdom of Tonga. A team of six installed the court over the course of two days.
Futsal is traditionally played on top of a rigid, area-elastic surface to promote speed of play and technical ball handling and passing skills. This makes Sport Court® Power Game™ the ideal surface for Futsal, as it allows the ball to travel smoothly and enables players to easily control the ball’s speed and movement.
Sport Court® has a long history with Futsal. It has previously been used for top-level indoor competitions like the UEFA Futsal Cup, the AFC Asian Futsal Championships, and the ESPN-Star Sports KL 5’s.
The Tonga Football Association’s Futsal surface was funded thru FIFA’s developmental GOAL program and marks Sport Court's second completed GOAL project in Oceania after building the first in Apia, Samoa in April of 2013.
