You think about how great it would be to wake up in the morning to work out. But instead you wait until after work in hopes of finding enough motivation to get moving. If you spend an hour or two at the gym, you may be working too hard. There are benefits to exercising less, but more intense and more than once a day. If you don’t have a lot of time, working out 15 minutes each day can give you major benefits.
One Long Workout
Most people try to work out for about 30 to 60 minutes a day in one duration. If your goal is to maintain your weight, this may be okay for you. If you are trying to lose weight, you want to try to exercise for about 300 minutes a day. While you may think you are getting your full exercise in the 30 to 60 minutes, you are taking a lot of breaks with moderate intensity. Instead of just doing cardio, switch it up. Head out to your sport court flooring and do some strength training.
Multiple Short Workouts
Multiple short workouts are more beneficial than one long workout. By doing multiple short, intense workouts, you can increase your calorie burn. Try for two or three 10 to 30-minute workout sessions. For one work out, do some cardio. For other workouts, head out to your sports flooring and try exercises such as jumping jacks, lunges, pushups and crunches.
Burning Calories
You can burn more calories by doing shorter, more intense workouts. Instead of doing long, moderate activity workouts, push your body to maximum effort for a shorter amount of time. If you are trying to lose weight, do a couple of exercises on your Sport court flooring and add some shorter more intense cardio.
If you are discouraged because you aren’t losing weight and you are working out every day, change up your workout. Instead of doing one long, moderate activity, try multiple short workouts. You will burn more calories and see more weight loss each week. Don’t get too discouraged before trying this.
