This past week saw the culmination of a months-long partnership to create a safer place to play in a Brooklyn, NY neighborhood. Funded by the U.S. Soccer Foundation, and in partnership with Street Soccer USA and Help USA, local Sport Court courtbuilder Sport Pros USA designed and built the titanium and purple futsal pitch, which features Sport Court’s patented PowerGame performance surface.

“Through our Courts for Communities program we partner with non-profit organizations to create safer places to play,” said Joel McCausland, Sport Court Director. “The U.S. Soccer Foundation provides grant funding for selected projects, and Sport Court works through its network of court builders to install and deliver the finished projects.”

As a U.S. Soccer Foundation corporate partner for the past six years, Sport Court has worked to bring safer recreational spaces to communities around the country. One of their first projects together was to provide courts for Street Soccer USA’s street soccer tournaments,  designed to promote social change through sport. Through the efforts of Street Soccer USA (SSUSA) and Help USA in over a dozen American cities, thousands of participants have since been helped to improve the quality of their lives, recover from substance abuse issues, and leave homelessness behind.

“Our goal at the U.S. Soccer Foundation is to provide organizations with the means to provide children with access to quality soccer programs and safe places to play,” said Ed Foster-Simeon, President and CEO of the U.S. Soccer Foundation. “We’re pleased to have been able to work with our partners to complete this project.”

Sport Court looks forward to continuing its relationship and driving social change through sports via its Courts for Communities program. For more information on how your organization may benefit contact us at courts4communities@sportcourt.com
