POSTED ON 2/24/12 | For a 19th consecutive year, events surrounding the NBA All-Star Weekend will take place on Connor Sport Court International’s sports flooring. In the coming week, Connor Sport Court will supply its portable flooring solutions for the NBA’s Jam Session held in Orlando, Florida
From February 23-26, fans can visit the Jam Session at the Orange County Convention Center to meet NBA players and legends, collect autographs, purchase merchandise and dribble, drive, shoot and slam on courts provided by Connor Sport Court.
“The NBA has relied on our high-performance surfaces for their All-Star events for nearly two decades,” said Ron Cerny, President and CEO of the Utah-based sports flooring manufacturer. “More than 65,000 square feet of Sport Court modular flooring will provide playing surfaces for interactive skills challenges throughout the Jam Session and a Connor portable Quicklock system will be used for events including the NBA All-Star practice and Celebrity Game.”
An estimated 200,000 children and adults are expected to take part in this year’s Jam Session. The NBA uses the Jam Session as a way of providing broad public contact with NBA players and hosts several community outreach events in the All-Star Game host city.
“Connor Sport Court is a key partner in making the Jam Session a success and we continue to trust their athletic surfaces for our players and fans because of strong safety and performance standards,” noted Nora Risti, Director of Events and Attractions for the NBA.
Connor Sport Court is supplying its patented Response™ flooring for the event, as well as a 112’ by 60’ Connor Quicklock™ portable hardwood playing surface. Sport Court will host a speed-shooting contest at its 40’ by 40’ activity area, which features Sport Court’s premier outdoor court surface, PowerGame™.
“We are proud to work with the NBA to help support the community with this event,” added Cerny.
